Sexton Irish Whisky
I discovered Sexton by accident while browsing through
the whisky’s on Masters of Malt website and as I have been so impressed with
Irish Single Malts, I thought I better give it a try. I was not disappointed, with it’s nutty flavour
and hint of chocolate, this makes an easy drink for a cold evening … well any
evening really!
Do not be like I was for many years and insist that
only Scottish whisky is worth drinking, experiment a little and give this a
try.
Sexton have this to say about it:
Masterfully
Crafted
Created by
Alex Thomas, one of a few female master blenders in the industry, The Sexton™
is made from 100% Irish malted barley and is triple distilled for smoothness in
copper pot stills. Our new spirit is then aged for perfection in former Oloroso
sherry casks, sourced from Jerez de la Frontera, Spain.
Masters of
Malt have the following tasting notes
Nose: Rich aromas of nuts, marzipan and
dark chocolate with a pinch of spice.
Palate: Dried fruit followed by honeycomb
sweetness, apricots, lemon zest, prunes and oak spice.
Finish: Woody on the finish, with honeyed
sweetness coming through.
